Tony Burger, Founder & CEO

Tony Burger, CFO & CEO

Tony Burger grew up in the arid Sangre de Cristo mountains of Northern New Mexico and is an avid outdoorsman. His respect and admiration for forestlands were foundational to his development as a socially motivated entrepreneur.
Mr. Burger is founder and CEO of PJ Woodlands LLC, the owner of the FiberWood™ and Althin™ intellectual property portfolio. PJ Woodlands has secured federal and state grant funding, raised seed capital, contracted with the federal government for facilities, labor, and sales and marketing services from UNICOR, completed initial engineering and design for Althin™ fiber manufacturing and FiberWood™ wood fiber plastic composite manufacturing. He also assembled the management team to launch the commercialization of FiberWood™. Prior to founding Woodlands LLC, Mr. Burger was Controller of the Global Markets Proprietary Group at Bankers Trust Company overseeing the accounting and risk reporting functions of its proprietary $9 billion portfolio of complex global fixed income securities. He managed 76 professionals in the USA and UK. Mr. Burger also previously worked for Blackstone Financial Management (now Blackrock) from its inception as a start-up investment advisory firm. He served on the Boards of two NYSE traded, registered investment companies and was responsible for the creation and management of their finance and administration departments. Prior to Blackstone, Mr. Burger created and managed the CMO/ABO Bond Administration Department at The First Boston Corporation. Mr. Burger began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Dallas, TX and New York, NY and received his CPA in 1992.

Mr. Burger earned his Bachelor of Accountancy degree from New Mexico State University.

Tim Leftwich, COO

Tim Leftwich, COO

As a Native American tribal member, Tim Leftwich has a strong commitment to the wise use of natural resources and sensitivity to job creation for economically depressed and disadvantaged communities. Mr. Leftwich has been involved in PJ Woodlands and the development of FiberWood™ for the last ten years. Mr. Leftwich is an environmental professional and project manager with over 45 years of experience directing and managing multidisciplinary projects for various industry sectors including mining, manufacturing, energy and agriculture. He has provided expert testimony to various U.S. Congressional Committees and to the Council on Environmental Quality. His emphasis is on project planning and management with project experience in North America, South America, Central Asia, and Europe. He has directed the permitting of large mining operations in the U.S. and was a team member for the licensing and construction of the first uranium enrichment facility in the U.S. using advanced gas centrifuge technology. He holds a B.S. degree from Texas A&M University and a M.S. degree from Texas Tech University.

John A. Youngquist, R&D

John A. Youngquist, R&D

John Youngquist is an expert in wood-based composites who has been involved in the development of FiberWood™ since its inception. Mr. Youngquist is a chemical engineer and a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), and has also studied law and business management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and statistics and advanced calculus at Rutgers University. Mr. Youngquist spent the vast majority of his career at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) US Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin as a Research Project Manager.

Mr. Youngquist is well-known for his pioneering research and program direction in the development of wood processing technologies and wood-based composite products. He started the wood fiber/plastics composites research program at Forest Products Laboratory and has authored or co-authored many publications on the subject. His research included developing innovative technologies to overcome technical barriers in converting blends of waste wood fiber with waste plastics into value added interior and exterior commercial products. Mr. Youngquist built a state-of-the-art wood plastic processing laboratory at Forest Products Laboratory and chaired the Madison based International Wood Fiber Plastics Conference for nine years. He is an expert in the chemistry, processing and marketing of wood fiber plastic materials, components, and products. He has successfully written numerous scientific grants to support his Forest Products Laboratory research program and in support of research for private clients. His consulting company focuses on wood engineering, natural resources, science and grant writing.

Mr. Youngquist has been a co-editor and authored several chapters in the Encyclopedia of Forest Sciences and has authored or co-authored more than 145 scientific and non-technical papers and obtained six U.S. patents.

Ron Simonetti, CMO

Ron Simonetti, CMO

With over 25 years of executive experience in sales and marketing, business development and management with such companies as DuPont, GE Plastics, Ecostrate and PRC Composites, Ron Simonetti brings essential marketing experience from the relevant fields of plastics, polymers and composites. His success in marketing composites and the relationships he has developed within the distribution channels bring a distinct advantage to PJ Woodlands’ capacity for sales growth in the private sector.

Mr. Simonetti is a Chemical Engineer from West Virginia University and an MBA in Finance and International Business from Drexel University.  He began his professional career at DuPont, one of the leading global Chemical and Plastics companies in the world.  He won the coveted DuPont Marketing Excellence Award for his work developing a new and novel market for Teflon finishes in the semiconductor industry.  Mr. SImonetti began his career with GE Plastics in the global additives group, where he had full P&L responsibility for that $50 million business.  Later, he was promoted to Global Product Manager in plastics to develop and grow the online trading platform for ChemConnect.  As COO for EcoStrate, a start up in composite materials, Mr. Simonetti and his team developed the process to produce recycled substrates for transportation/road signs and flooring substrates.  In his role, he successfully launched initial production at a Pennsylvania facility, orchestrated the substrate qualification with AASHTO for traffic signs, established contacts with all major state level DOTs, and expanded production into California
